This is gonna be a quick blog and not super long. Oh and it's not a high quality post. Just a few shoutouts and an experience I wanna give in addition to my mission update. Oh and I just got my wisdom teeth taken out, so I'm super bored and need something to talk about.
Hey all, quick update before I dig into this blog. My papers were not submitted 4 weeks ago like I thought they were. I was notified that night that I had a few medical things to get done. Anyway, my papers were submitted 2 weeks ago and as of now, I don't know what the status is. I still have not received an update that it is assigned. My stake president called me yesterday, though, with some interesting news. First off, he is positive that I will be cleared to serve from the church headquarters and I will have no problem with it. Secondly, my call will not arrive as usual. The mission department called him yesterday and said they are officially pilot testing a new system. My mission call will now come through email. I will be one of the very first missionaries around the world to get their call through email so that will be cool. Anyway, I will update you all when I get my call. But in the meantime, GUESS WHERE I'M GOING. Whether it be on here or on my Facebook, start guessing. I will give you a $5 gift card to a place of your choosing if you are closest. If you guess my EXACT MISSION, then I will give you, hmmm, let's do $20. I'm super excited!!! Anyway, here's to my blog.
This past weekend I went and spent some time in Rexburg. Life is boring back home and I never have anything to do. I decided to go and see all my friends. When I arrived, I was greeted with open arms and happy faces to see me. It was an amazing experience. I hung out with friends, said goodbye to my friends for 2 years and I felt loved. That is why I loved it. I had that feeling that I don't have at home.
So how did my weekend go? Well, it started off with a 3:30 wake up call. Then a 1 1/2 trip to the Long Beach airport. Then a 2-hour plane ride and then topped it off with a 5-hour bus ride. But it was totally worth it. I finally arrived at the freezing tundra of Rexburg and learned that the sacrifices I made that day and the money I spent will be worth it and I wouldn't regret it. I'll save you from the boring details of everything this weekend. It was definitely great seeing my sister especially since she needed me at that point in time and she needed me to be there for her. But it was great seeing my friends and definitely made me feel so much better about myself. I went to P2B and sat in the massage chair, went to a Valentine's dance, hung out late with friends, and enjoyed myself. Anyway, I don't want to bore you guys so I'm gonna shout out a bunch of friends. And yes some of these I have shouted out before.
Let's start with Cody, Nathan, Nathan, Marty, Taylor, and Ben- I stayed with these dudes and they were a blast. We had so many laughs and so many great times. I appreciate them for letting me stay with them and opening up their apartment. I can't thank them enough for the examples they are and the awesome people they are.
Maddy and Brooklyn- my favorite set of sisters to walk this planet. They are so amazing and super sweet. They have always been there for me and have only shown kindness towards me. It always makes me happy when I am around them and all they do is uplift me.
Jenna- I've talked about Jenna before so I'll keep it short. We have come a long way in our friendship and I am so thankful for how big of a part she has become in my life and her friendship means a lot.
The mountain loft guys- these include quite a few that live in mountain lofts and used to live at Nauvoo. These guys are all amazing. They are so funny and always make me feel welcome. I spent part of my weekend at their apartment and it just always made me happy to be around them and for them to include me and make me feel at home.
Savanna Theobald- SAVANNA IS AN AMAZING FRIEND. She was the probably the most excited all weekend to see me and I spent some of my time with her. I am always thankful for her and her positive attitude towards the way she treats me.
Houston and Veronica- I saw this adorable couple in the MC while I was with a friend. I talked with them and we were able to catch up a little bit. I saw them later on that evening and then again on Saturday. They are such an amazing married couple and have such kind hearts.
NATALIE- Ok, I've talked about Natalie before and I truly think she is an amazing person. We haven't always had a solid friendship but I feel that it is better than ever now. I can't express how much I love hanging out with her and how much it meant to me for her sacrifcing time to hang out with me. She went out of town most of the weekend but she still went with me to campus to see a teacher and check in for power to become. I had so much fun hanging out with her on campus. When she got back Sunday evening, I went over to her apartment to hang out and say goodbye. I was there with her, Dimani, and Dominique until around 1 in the morning and it was super fun.The last 3 people I saw before I left. I'm gonna miss you guys so much!!!
Dimani- I flippin love Dimani. I've talked about her plenty of times but she has been the realest friend I have ever had and it makes me so happy to know her. She has been such a huge influence in my life and I can't wait to see her again in the future.
Oh and one last one GAVIN AND JOZELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found out last week that he was gonna propose and my big mouth managed to keep itself shut for the whole week and not tell her. I am so happy for them. Gavin and Jozelle are the sweetest people ever. Jozelle seriously doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She has given me rides to Walmart and the plasma center and she is the best. Gavin is super funny and always keeps me in check. I love him!!!
Oh and shout out to Karli because we both got our wisdom teeth taken out today so we are in pain together and are trying to survive. She is super sweet and I had a class with her last semester and then ended up being roommates with Natalie.
I know there are a ton more people to shout out but I'm gonna leave it at that. Everyone in Rexburg better know how much I appreciate them. The friends in my college life have played a huge role in my life and have been very important. They have helped raise my self-esteem the past year and a half and I can't ever pay any of them back but I can always appreciate them for how amazing they all. Friends are some of the most amazing people ever.
